Ibutamoren
What is Ibutamoren (MK-677)
The primary function of MK 677 is to stimulate the production of Growth Hormone within the body. Growth Hormone’s role within the body is to promote the growth of all tissues ensuring that the body is developing properly. Growth Hormone accomplishes this by assisting with the production of Insulin-like Growth Factor 1 (IGF-1) which plays a critical role in the production of cells. Consequently, many believe that Growth Hormone can stimulate an increase in the growth and production of muscle mass and therefore MK 677 being able to stimulate muscle growth. It is difficult to believe if this claim and other claims regarding MK 677 are true since current research on its effectiveness is limited.
What is Ibutamoren?
Ibutamoren is the term that MK-677 is commonly known as on the market and within the health/fitness industry. The ability of ibutamoren to increase muscle growth is a hot topic in many online forums and message boards that discuss the newest ways to increase muscle mass. Many lifters obsessed with achieving the most gains in the quickest time possible use these online forums to seek advice when using Ibutamoren since there is not much scientific evidence available.

Misleadingly, Ibutamoren is commonly referred to as a SARM (Selective Androgen Receptor Modulator). SARMs are similar in their chemical structure to anabolic steroids, but without many of the side effects. Ibutamoren, on the other hand, functions by targeting ghrelin receptors which triggers the release of growth hormone through pituitary gland and hypothalamic receptors. Ghrelin is the hormone that stimulates the appetite in the body and ibutamoren, which copies ghrelin’s role in Growth Hormone production, has a similar function. Since appetite is stimulated when taking ibutamoren, it is common for its users to gain weight while taking it.
